St Antony’s Summer DPhil Group

June 4, 2012 in Uncategorized by Justyna Lucznik

Are you a DPhil student and planning to be around over the summer break? Would you like to be part of a new St Antony’s DPhil social and discussion group? It would meet weekly from 10th week onwards, and look something like this:

What: A DPhil research discussion group to share work in progress, lessons learned from navigating the DPhil experience and connect with other DPhils.

Where: Khodorkovskiy Room (in the basement of the main college building, entrance near computer room)

When: first meeting Tuesday 26 June (10th week) from 5.45 – 6.45pm, followed by dinner in college

The aim of the group is to support DPhil students at all stages of their research. Participants will have the opportunity to give a short presentation or discuss research ideas and challenges in a supportive, informal setting. The group could also be a forum to discuss common issues to all DPhils including: how to get published; fieldwork; funding; keeping motivated and conferences. Finally it will be a social forum for DPhil students to meet on a regular basis during the quieter summer months. We will establish a weekly agenda at the first meeting and based on the interests of participants involved.

If you’d like to be involved or at least join the mailing list, please send an email to Nina Hall (nina.hall@sant.ox.ac.uk) or Joanna Szostek (joanna.szostek@sant.ox.ac.uk) so we have an idea of how many people are interested.
